by Noah Michaelsen on February 3, 2010

North Loop Near Picnic TableDave and Ross groomed the trail system on Monday afternoon.  Approximately 2 inches of fresh fluffy snow fell Monday evening.  Ross has plans to regroom the skate deck Tuesday evening.

The skiing should be wonderful this week at Hickory Ridge.

Hello friends, the trail is in good shape. Nice new comb on the skate lane and a nice classic track as well. Put 8O miles on grooming last night and this morning. Hope the trails is good enough for everyone to ski.

I felt like a poacher, trying to get the first tracks. Someone beat me to it. But I got out there over lunch and banged out a quick 18 K. The grooming is as perfect. I imagine the trails to St. Peter’s Gate might be groomed this nice – - absolutely heavenly. Thanks Ross!

I was also out there Wednesday afternoon and I agree… close to perfection!! It is good for the mind and the soul to ski Hickory on days like this. Thanks for the great grooming job, Ross and Dave!

Skiing was sublime today. Skate skis glided, classic skis kicked and even the skier on them worked. The grooming was a dream.
Dog Island Loop is much better suited for skate skiing.
After doing a big loop on skate skis, I just couldn’t quit. Had to try the tracks. It was just as satisfying.
